How YouTube View tasks work
YouTube View tasks are designed for campaigns where the main goal is video watching.
These tasks are part of the Surf & Watch earning section on TaskPulse. They do not require manual advertiser review and do not require the TaskPulse Task Verifier extension.
YouTube View tasks are different from regular Website Visit tasks. If your goal is to promote a YouTube video, you should use the proper YouTube View category instead of placing a YouTube video link into a Website Visit campaign.
What YouTube View tasks are for
YouTube View tasks are used when advertisers want freelancers to open and watch a YouTube video through the TaskPulse task flow.
They can be useful for:
- Promoting YouTube videos
- Getting real users to watch video content
- Increasing exposure for a video campaign
- Testing how users interact with a YouTube video target
The goal is video watching, not just opening a webpage.
How freelancers complete YouTube View tasks
Freelancers open the Surf & Watch section and choose an available YouTube View task.
After starting the task, the freelancer opens the video through the TaskPulse task flow and watches it for the required time.
The task is completed only when TaskPulse confirms that the required viewing condition has been reached.
How verification works
YouTube View tasks use automatic verification.
The freelancer must keep the task flow active until the required viewing time or completion condition is finished. If the video is closed too early, the task flow is interrupted, or the required viewing condition is not completed, the task may not be paid.
The TaskPulse Task Verifier extension is not required for YouTube View tasks. The extension is required only for Social Tasks.
When the reward is credited
The freelancer receives the reward after the YouTube View task is successfully completed and confirmed by TaskPulse.
TaskPulse does not pay for unfinished viewing attempts, closed sessions, or task flows that cannot be verified.
What advertisers should know
Advertisers can create YouTube View campaigns from the Social and Surfing campaign creation page:
https://taskpul.se/campaigns/social-activities/new/
Before launching a YouTube View campaign, make sure the video is public, available, and suitable for the selected category.
A valid YouTube video target should:
- Be public and accessible
- Not be deleted or private
- Not be age-restricted or heavily access-restricted
- Not be blocked in the countries you want to target
- Open normally for freelancers
- Match the YouTube View category you selected
YouTube Views are not the same as Website Visits
Website Visit tasks are designed for regular webpages. YouTube View tasks are designed for watching YouTube videos.
If you place a YouTube video link into a Website Visit campaign, the campaign is still treated as a website visit. That is not the same as using the proper YouTube View task flow.
If your goal is video watching, use the correct YouTube View category.

Does TaskPulse guarantee that YouTube will count every view?
TaskPulse verifies completion inside the TaskPulse task flow.
However, YouTube has its own systems for counting, filtering, delaying, and validating public view counts. Because of that, a successfully completed TaskPulse view task does not mean YouTube will always update the public view counter immediately or count every view in the exact way advertisers expect.
This is normal for YouTube campaigns and is one more reason to use the proper YouTube View category instead of a regular Website Visit campaign.
What can cause a YouTube View task to fail?
A YouTube View task may fail if the video cannot be watched correctly or the task flow is interrupted.
Common reasons include:
- The freelancer closes the video before the required time is completed
- The task page or video page is closed too early
- The video is deleted, private, or unavailable
- The video is blocked in the freelancer's region
- The video requires special access
- The video does not load correctly
- The task flow is interrupted before verification finishes
- The advertiser used the wrong category for the target URL
For advertisers: choose the correct category
If you want YouTube video watching, choose the YouTube View category from the Social and Surfing campaign creation flow.
Do not use:
- Website Visits if your real goal is YouTube video watching
- Custom Tasks if you do not need manual proof or custom instructions
- Social action categories if you only need video viewing
Choosing the correct category helps TaskPulse apply the right task flow and verification logic.
For freelancers: complete the full viewing flow
If you complete YouTube View tasks as a freelancer, do not close the video early.
Stay in the task flow until TaskPulse confirms completion. If the viewing condition is not completed, the reward may not be credited.
If the video does not load, is unavailable, or cannot be watched, the task may fail.
Common mistakes
- Advertisers using Website Visits for YouTube videos
- Using a private, deleted, or restricted YouTube video URL
- Expecting YouTube public view counters to update instantly
- Freelancers closing the video before the required time finishes
- Freelancers switching away or interrupting the task flow before completion
