What permissions does the extension use?

TaskPulse Task Verifier is the official browser extension used to help verify Social Tasks on TaskPulse.

Like any browser extension, it needs certain permissions to work correctly. Some permission names shown by Chrome may sound broad, so this article explains what they mean in the context of TaskPulse.

Permissions shown by Chrome

Depending on your browser and extension settings, Chrome may show permissions such as:

  1. Read your browsing history
  2. Display notifications
  3. Read and change all your data on websites you visit

These are standard Chrome permission labels. They describe what an extension may technically need access to, but they do not always explain the actual purpose clearly.

Why “Read your browsing history” may appear

Chrome may show this permission when an extension needs access to browser tabs or page information.

TaskPulse Task Verifier uses this kind of access to understand which page is open during a Social Task and to help confirm that you are working with the correct task target.

For example, during a Social Task, the extension may need to check that the opened page matches the required profile, post, or content related to the task.

This permission does not mean that the extension is designed to show your private browsing history in your TaskPulse account or complete tasks by reading unrelated pages.

Why “Display notifications” is used

Notifications may be used to help you during the task flow.

For example, the extension may notify you about task verification status, extension activity, or actions needed to continue the Social Task process.

These notifications are meant to make the verification process clearer and reduce failed task attempts.

Why Chrome says “Read and change all your data on websites you visit”

This is one of the broadest and most alarming Chrome permission labels. It appears when an extension needs access to website pages in order to work.

TaskPulse Task Verifier needs page access because Social Tasks happen on external social platforms, not only on the TaskPulse website.

During a Social Task, the extension may need to interact with the opened page to help verify that the required action was completed correctly.

In practice, this access is needed for Social Task verification, such as checking the task-related page, target, or verification flow.

Does the extension complete tasks automatically?

No. TaskPulse Task Verifier does not complete Social Tasks for you automatically.

You still need to perform the required action yourself, such as following, liking, reposting, upvoting, commenting, or subscribing when the task asks for it.

The extension helps TaskPulse verify the result after you complete the action.

Does the extension need my passwords?

No. TaskPulse Task Verifier does not ask for your social network passwords. If a social platform asks you to log in, that happens on the social platform's own website, not inside TaskPulse Task Verifier.

Is the extension required for all TaskPulse tasks?

No. The extension is required only for Social Tasks.

You do not need it for:

  1. Custom Tasks - these are reviewed manually by the advertiser
  2. Surf & Watch - these are verified automatically after the timer finishes

Why TaskPulse needs these permissions for Social Tasks

Social Tasks are completed on third-party websites. Without the extension, TaskPulse cannot reliably confirm that the required action was completed correctly.

These permissions help TaskPulse:

  1. Detect whether the extension is installed and active
  2. Confirm that the correct social platform page is opened
  3. Check that the task flow is connected to the correct target
  4. Help verify supported social actions
  5. Reduce unpaid failures caused by incomplete or incorrect task completion

Can I disable or remove the extension?

Yes. You control your browser extensions.

You can disable or remove TaskPulse Task Verifier from your browser extension settings at any time.

However, if the extension is disabled or removed, TaskPulse will not show the list of available Social Tasks and will ask you to install or enable the extension before you can continue with Social Tasks.
